What a first day!
The first day of the competition began with some overwhelming victories. In the male competition, Slovakia scored 12 goals against 0 of Japan. The same happened in the female competition, in which Czech Republic beated Japan for 16-0. Women team of Poland had the biggest goals partial of the competition until now, winning for 26-0 to Spain.
In the afternoon the scenario has changed! We could watch some truly “battles”. Switzerland and Czech Republic made a demonstration of how to play hard floorball with a very fast game happening at University Stadium. The game was decided only in the last minutes, in favor of Switzerland (9-8), after a great dispute with Czech Republic. The highlight goes to the men of the match Manuel Engel (Sui) and Lukas Hajek (Czech Rep).
Another great game pitted teams of the Republic of Korea and Spain, in which Korea got the best of Spain, winning 7-6.
At Sports Faculty, Sweden wasn’t capable to beat Finland. In a game between two Nordic teams, Finland was the strongest, winning for 4-9.
At the end of the day, the male competition ended with the game between Portuguese team and Slovakia and Japanese team against Republic of Korea. Japan wanted to do better that in the first game and so they did, winning to Republic of Korea for 8-3.
Portugal couldn’t beat Slovakia losing 26-1. It wasn’t a good start for the home team but they still can recover!
